A 1985 AC Cobra MkIV that spent the first two years of its life as a demonstrator in Jersey is among the star attractions at Historics’ Farnborough International sale on 3 May. Estimated at £95,000 – 120,000, it comes with a rare factory-supplied hardtop, a comprehensive history file and 15,000 miles on the clock.
Joining the Cobra at the head of the catalogue is a two-owner 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth with 2,942 miles (estimate £140,000 – 160,000); a 1972 Aston Martin V8 with bills in excess of £193,000 for restoration and upgrades carried out from 2017-2020 (estimate £140,000 – 165,000); and a 1923 Bentley 3 Litre Open Tourer by H.J. Mulliner, with its original body, engine (recently rebuilt) and gearbox (estimate £120,000 – 160,000).

Hampson Auctions gets its May sale underway the following day, when 85 lots go under the hammer at Bolesworth Castle. 1960s machinery includes a matching-numbers Aston Martin DB4 Series V Vantage which has only covered some 1,000 miles since the completion of a £190,000 restoration in 2018 (estimate £400,000 – 500,000); and a Jaguar E-Type Series I, restored and upgraded by Woodham Mortimer in 2020 as a WM Sport GT, with a widened body reminiscent of the lightweight competition cars and an uprated 4.7 litre engine (£200,000 – 300,000).

Iconic Auctioneers returns to Sywell for its third annual Supercar Fest sale on 17 May where a 2022 Ferrari 812 Competizione tops the entries. The one-owner car has formed part of a private collection in the Isle of Man from new and has been recently serviced by the supplying dealer Stratstone. Now showing just 2,200 miles, it is expected to fetch £1,000,000 – 1,200,000.
Other low-milers include a 2021 Ferrari SF90 Stradale, one owner and 4,500 miles (estimate £260,000 – 290,000); a single-owner 2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 with 6,040 miles (estimate £110,000 – 130,000); and a 6,114-mile 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 SuperSport (estimate £140,000 – 160,000).

A 1960 Maserati 3500 GT is among the early consignments at H&H’s Buxton sale on 21 May. Built as a left-hand drive example for the European market, it was cosmetically restored prior to the vendor’s purchase in 2019, subsequently benefitting from a further mechanical overhaul and interior retrim (estimate £140,000 – 160,000).
