The Fonderia Macchi Carlo hosts RM Sotheby’s on 22 May for its inaugural Milan sale. Star attraction among the 38-car lineup is a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV which carries a guide in excess of €3,200,000. Presented in its original scheme of Rosso Corsa over blue leather, chassis 4946 was supplied new to the US and won “Best Lamborghini” at Concorso Italiano’s Miura celebrations in 2016.
Italian machinery locks out the top three: a 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Lungo Cabriolet exhibited by its first owner, HRH Prince Filiberto of Savoy-Genoa, at the 1933 Monte Carlo Concours d’Elegance is expected to fetch €3,500,000 – 4,500,000, while a 1989 Ferrari F40 with 17,300km and Ferrari Classiche certification is estimated at €2,400,000 – 2,800,000.
The catalogue also includes a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0, one of only 55 produced (estimate €1,000,000 – 1,500,000). Entered in the 1975 Targa Florio by its by its second owner who retained the car for three decades, it has formed part of the consignor’s collection since 2015 and will require recommissioning following long-term static display.

Broad Arrow Auctions holds its first Villa d’Este sale from 24-25 May, kicking off with a single-marque BMW auction that features an unrestored 507 Series II Roadster (estimate €2,000,000 – 2,300,000) and a brace of M1s among the notable entries.
Day two sees a 1948 Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa head the inventory with a pre-sale estimate of €5,500,000 – 7,500,000. The multiple concours award-winning car was campaigned in Formula Two races in period, and finished 6th overall in the 1948 Targa Florio, together with outings at the Mille Miglia in 1948 and 1949. Chassis 004 C joined Henry Austin Clark’s collection in 1965, remaining with the family until 2015.
Other big-ticket lots on the roster include a unique 1938 Talbot-Lago T150 C Lago Spéciale Teardrop Coupé by Figoni et Falaschi that took a class win in the 1948 Belgian Grand Prix, the 24 Hours of Spa (estimate €4,500,000 – 6,500,000); a one-of-30 2022 Pagani Huayra R with 134km (estimate €2,800,000 – 3,200,000); and a 6,350-km 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, single-ownership and just 112 examples built (estimate €2,300,000 – 2,500,000).
